2nd Annual Bowling for Polio Jan 31, 2010 Our 2nd Annual Bowling for Polio event took place January 31, 2010 at Canyon Lanes in Morongo Casino. This year we added the participation of the Cathedral City club and the newly chartered Palm Springs Evening Star Club, along with original clubs Sun-up and our own club. This year was bigger and better. This year all four clubs collectively will donate over $9,000 to Polio Plus. Congratulations to all the clubs and their terrific effort to "SAY GOODBYE TO POLIO."  View 
Job Shadow Day - Career Day Jan 13, 2010 The Rotary Club of Palm Springs held it's annual Job Shawdow Day today. Club member, John Glenn worked with Fern Rudd from Palm Springs High School to coordinate with Business Club students to team up with Rotarians to Shawdow them in their business or profession. This year two members from Palm Springs Sun up Club were also participated in the event as well. Students spend morning with Rotarians and then attended Rotary Club meeting to share in their experience.  View 
Early Act/USO Dec 9, 2009 The Cahuilla Elementary School Early Act club officers and service chairs attended our Rotary meeting this week. They led us in the pledge of alligence and the 4 Way Test. After our Rotary Meeting the students along with their teacher/advisors Mrs. Chambers and Mr. Hammond will visit the USO to present "gift" bags to the military who fly in and out of Palm Springs Airport. Thanksgiving Gathering 2009 Nov 22, 2009 The Rotary Club of Palm Springs held it's annual Thanksgiving Gathering. This year, our chairman Mike Sellin organized a canned food drive. All canned items will be donated to FIND. We had great food, fun and our traditional White Elephant (dice game) led by our own Margie Taft - the master of the game.  View 
"Dictionary Day" at Cahuilla Elementary Nov 18, 2009 The Rotary Club of Palm Springs donated dictionaries to the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at Cahuilla Elementary School.  View

The Youth Act club recently elected officers and committee chairs. The primary focus of the club this year is the Environment. We are very lucky to have Mrs. Thornhill to be the Youth Act Advisor. Rotary Advisors: Jacque Wachs and Hal Marchick. The students have a strong commitment to the environment in their school, community as well as the world. Aids Walk 2009 Oct 31, 2009 This year the three clubs of Palm Springs; Sun-up, Evening Star and Rotary Club of Palm Springs participated in the Desert Aids Walk 2009. Walk was held at Ruth Hardy Park and fun was had by all walking to the 2 mile walk in the beautiful Movie Colony area of Palm Springs. Our clubs raised $1,400 (and counting) for this event.  View 
Early Act Installation of Officers Oct 21, 2009 Installation of 2009-2010 Officers for Early Act Club at Cahuilla Elementary School was held 10-21-09 at the Cahuilla Elementary All Purpose room. Early Act Club members were invited as well as their family and friends. Refreshments were served by the Rotary Club of Palm Springs.  View 
Demotion Dinner for President Jacque Wachs Jun 27, 2009 The year is end and time for Demotion Dinner for President Jacque Wachs, the evening was fun with a surprise entertainment of "Tiny Tim" singing in tribute to Pres. Jacque. Also the return of the 3 M's dancing their way to President Jacque's heart....A fun evening and a great way to end a great year...  View 
Angel View Prom 2009 Jun 6, 2009 This is the 5th year of our Angel View Prom held at the YMCA. This event involves the residents of Angel View Residential Homes and the Interact Club of Palm Springs High School. Each year a "prom night" is created. The funds come from Wallis Jones Grant, Agua Caliente Band of Indians. And generous sponsorship from the Desert Hot Springs Rotary Club, Angel View Auxiliary Board, various donations from business in our local community. And the hard work of the club. It was a fun night for all.....  View 
Awards 2008-2009 District Conference -Bahia Resort May 1, 2009 The 2008-2009 District Conference was held at the Bahia Resort in Sand Diego this year. This year the Rotary Club of Palm Springs received 17 patches for our efforts this year. Congratulations to the Rotary Club of Palm Springs.  View 
Rotarian's at Work Day Apr 25, 2009 Rotarian's at Work Day was held on April 25, 2009. Rotary Clubs throughout the world dedicate a day to volunteer in their community. The Rotary Club of Palm Springs volunteered at the following: 1) Pick up trash with the Sun up Club and Evening Star Club Hwy 111. 2) Painting the interior of one of the residential homes for Angel View Crippled Childrens. 3) Set-up, selling tickets and volunteering at the Palm Springs Library "Dia de Los Ninos" Event.  View 
Cahuilla Elementary School Family Reading Nite Apr 21, 2009 The Rotary Club of Palm Springs donated books to the Cahuilla Elementary School. A Family Reading Nite was held on April 21st where the books were handed out to the children.  View 
Early Act "Earth Day" Apr 20, 2009 The Early Act Club of Cahuilla Elementary planted flowers at Cahuilla Elementary School in honor of "Earth Day". Flowers were donated by the Rotary Club of Palm Springs.  View 
Dean stopped by to sing to Prez Jacque Rotary at the Sands Mar 21, 2009 The Rotary Club of Palm Springs sponsored Rotary at the Sands" held at the Hotel Zoso. A recreation of the "Sands" with casino and "Vegas" entertainment. The fundraiser showcased the community organizations that have been supported by our club: Angel View Crippled Children's, The Well in the Desert, Mizell Senior Center, Cahuilla Elementary School, Palm Springs Library, etc It was a great evening of "Casino Fun and Entertainment".  View 
"Bowling for Polio" Fundraiser Feb 8, 2009 The Rotary Clubs of Palm Springs (Sun up Club and Rotary Club of Palm Springs) co-sponsored our 1st Annual "Bowling For Polio". The purpose of this event was to create awareness in our community regarding the Gates Foundation Challenge to Rotary to raise 100 million dollars to eradicate Polio in the world. This was our way to say GOOD-BYE to Polio. Event was held at the Canyon Lanes in Morongo. It was a Rotary family and friends affair.  View 
The Kids at Cahuilla Elementary School saying Thank you to our Club Dictionary Project Feb 4, 2009 Each year the Rotary Club of Palm Springs supply dictionaries to all third-grade students at Cahuilla, Agua Caliente, Katherine Finchy and Vista del Monte Elementary Schools. Club members delivered the dictionaries on Wed., Feb 4th to Cahuilla Elementary School and passed them out to the third-grade classes.  View

Early Act - USO Dec 8, 2008 The Early Act Kids from Cahuilla Elementary School made cards for our military men and women who come through the Palm Springs Airport and stop at the USO. The children made special cards thanking our military men and women for all that they do for this country. They also provided mailboxes and stationary and pens so that they could write to the kids all year round. The kids delivered these cards and spent some time at the USO.  View 
Holiday Party with Sun up club Dec 4, 2008 This year our Club was invited to attend the Holiday Party of the Palm Srings Sun up club. It was held at the former home of Christina Onassis. Hosted by Rick Hutchinson. A great evening of food and music by Anna Rose and Michael Healy.  View

Watch out Beckham you have some competition VIP AYSO Soccer Team Nov 15, 2008 Our Rotary club Foundation sponsors the American Youth Soccer Organization VIP team Through our Club Foundation Grant our club has donated equipment and team shirts to these amazing young soccer players with special needs. Their coach Bob has done a fantastic job with these enthusiastic players... Our club is very proud to see them wear our club logo.... they play every Saturday in Season at Demuth Park at 11 a.m.  View 
GSE Team with Milt Levinson, District GSE Coordinator, Jim Dowler, Club GSE Coordinator, DG Rob and Maureen and President Jacque GSE Team, England Visit Nov 12, 2008 The GSE Team from District 1040 arrived on November 12th for a presentation to our club. We were thrilled to have Geoff Brown, GSE Team Leader, Lisa Welford, Lynn Starsmore, Julie Hoole and Tim O'Dowd with our club from 11-12 to 11-17th. Our club's GSE Team Leader Jim Dowler along with the District's Team Leader Milt Levinson organized vocational visits, host families, Tram and Salton Sea visit, the Foundation Gala and the BBQ on the 16th at the home of Ed & Manny.  View

Franks with his young group of students who received donations of school supplies headed to their class room to deliver Cahuilla School Project-School Supplies Sep 15, 2008 The Rotary Club of Palm Springs delivered school supplies to Cahuilla Elementary School. Thanks to a generous donation each class received school supplies distributed by the members of the Rotary Club of Palm Springs. Janet Miller, Youth Services Chair and Earlyact Chair organized the the project along with Principal Denise Ellis.  View

Backpacks for the Well in the Desert Jul 30, 2008 70 backpacks and supplies were presented to clients of the Well in the Desert on July 30k 2008 The homeless, working poor, children, veterans and seniors are some of the many groups the Well in the Desert serves. An Opportunity Grant plus the generous donations of the members of the Rotary Club of Palm Springs provided the backpacks and supplies.  View 
Chase Aaronson, Scott Saunders, Mike and Carol Brill and Ang Le Kevin Brill Memorial Scholarship Jul 30, 2008 On our July 30th club meeting, Mike Brill gave a history of the Kevin Brill Memorial Scholarship. The Scholarship was created by Rotarian Mike Brill and his wife Carol to honor their son Kevin Brill, student at Palm Springs High School. Kevin died in a boating accident 14 years ago and since then the Kevin Brill Memorial was formed to provide scholarships to deserving students. Mike Brill introduced recipients; Scott Saunders 2006, Ang Le 2007 and 2008 recipient Chase Aaronson.  View
